I purchased the unit from a private party and the original owners manual was not available. Having the ability to download it was extremely helpful and clarified operating the equipment immensely. This is a complicated unit and without the manual I would not have been able to maximize it's potential. Thank you.

Using on AC house current
Before connecting the AC cord (LH model only) *

The LH model has an AC VOLTAGE selector. Make sure that the AC VOLTAGE selector is set to the position matching your local voltage. If it is not correctly set, change it with a screwdriver or a similar tool. Either 110-120V or 220-240V can be selected.
Connect the supplied AC cord. Q) to the AC inlet of the unit

Using on batteries
Insert eight R14 (size C) batteries correctly aligned. + u with the 0 and

Replace batteries when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes dim, the tape speed slows down, volume decreases, or sound is distorted during operation.

Make sure that the FUNCTION switch is set to POWER O STANDBY/ TAPE before inserting batteries.

Replacing
batteries
The maximum operation distance of the remote control should be approximately 5 meters (16 feet). When this distance decreases, replace the batteries with new ones.
Hints for correct operation . When the unit is not to be used for a long period, remove the batteries
to prevent electrolyte leakage. . Do not expose the light receiving section to direct sunlight or to strong artificial lighting. If objects intervene between the light receiving section and the remote control, the latter may not work correctly. o The sensor�s light reception range is limited. Point the remote control toward the recorder when using it.
